April 29-May 4, VisiMax's technical team will attend Techcon, a technical conference hosted by the Society of Vacuum Coaters (SVC), the global source for learning, applying, and advancing vacuum coating, surface engineering, and related technologies.

VisiMax team members Karl Karbowicz and Kevin Laverty will travel to Providence, Rhode Island to participate in this five-day conference. There they will attend presentations from some of the optical coating industry's leading engineers and scientists and visit the Techcon exhibition, the largest exhibition for the vacuum coating industry.

Techcon 2017 will feature technical presentations on topics ranging from Neurostructured Coatings to Improve Medical Device Performance to Coatings for Energy Conservation to Plasma Processing. This conference is also an opportunity to network and learn about the latest trends in equipment and materials used by the industry. Techcon prides itself on promoting the transition of R&D in the field of vacuum coating to production level operations. Being part of this conference is one more way that VisiMax seeks to bring the most innovative technologies to our customers’ applications.

VisiMax Director of Technology Karl Karbowicz has been a proud member of SVC for almost 30 years. This organization is the only one of its kind in the industry and does an exceptional job of bridging research and industry in vacuum coating. An extraordinary resource for industry professionals, the SVC also serves as a resource for students, encouraging the study of vacuum coating through an SVC student sponsorship program and the provision of SVC volunteer mentors.
